Our Elegant Events team has always been huge fans of couples taking time for engagement photos. Ryan and Dino’s photos at Longwood Gardens capture everything we love about engagement shoots.

In general, most people are not all that comfortable having their picture taken. So rather than waiting until your wedding date to connect with your photographer, engagement photos help you get to know each other a little better.

Engagement photos can help your photographer learn what you think is your “good side,” what makes each of you laugh and how you connect as a couple. It also helps to get the two of you more comfortable with taking direction, and your photographer will be able to put you more at ease on your wedding day.

Beyond that, beautiful portraits that are a bit more relaxed make great artwork for your home. You may want some of the photos to display at your wedding, and they can also make beautiful Thank You gifts for parents.

With a majority of the country being quarantined under “Safe at Home” guidelines, things can get a bit stressful. In some cases, couples who are typically on the run between work, wedding planning, and other outside interest are spending a lot of time together.

When we are all able to resume normal activities, spending some time outside having fun, and getting some fresh air will quickly get things back on track. It’s also a great way to get back into wedding planning and reconnect with your wedding photographer.

Be sure to pick a favorite location where you can unwind and be yourselves. It’s the perfect opportunity to take a walk, relax, and enjoy some sunshine.
