Cira Centre Wedding: On Top of the World

Our Elegant Events Planning and Design team adored working with Shakira and Raymond. The incredible team of wedding professionals assembled for their wedding last fall had us all on top of the world.

The couple spent a quiet morning in two separate locations, getting ready with their wedding parties.

After a quiet morning and a few photos getting ready with their wedding party, everyone made their way to the Cira Centre for a beautiful private wedding ceremony.

Sounds of a piano greeted family and friends as they gathered for the wedding ceremony. A solo vocalist sang ‘Make You Feel My Love’ by Adele as Shakira made her entrance escorted by her father.

Shakira and Raymond chose to include a handfasting as part of the wedding ceremony, along with a reading of “The Couples Prayer.”

The newlyweds closed their wedding ceremony with “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” by Stevie Wonder as they headed off for their wedding photos.

While wedding guests enjoyed the cocktail hour, the newlyweds and wedding party headed off for some photos. These included a photo session with Shakira and Raymond in a rooftop garden overlooking the city of Philadelphia.

The atrium reception offered spectacular views of the city as the backdrop to the celebration. A long head table in the center of the room was draped in shimmering linen. A thick robe of greenery accented with clusters of flowers and candles in gold goblets lined the table.

A large black and white patterned dance floor filled the center of the space with guest tables lining the sides.

The wedding reception began with introductions of family and wedding parties, followed by the bride and groom’s entrance. The newlyweds had their First Dance to “She’s Royal” by Tarrus Riley.

A welcome by the Father of the Bride was followed by toasts by the Best Man and Maid of Honor. The evening continued with a delicious dinner and the bride and groom dances with their parents.

After an evening of dancing, Shakira and Raymond cut their spectacular wedding cake. The four-tiered wedding cake included tiers decorated with white ruffles, gold leaf, and fresh flowers.
