Bride and groom at their Kimmel Center wedding

Why do you enjoy working at the Kimmel Center?

We frequently find ourselves recommending the Kimmel Center to our clients because of its versatile spaces. With four wedding venues to choose from, we love that each has a distinctive ambiance.

Whether you’re looking for timeless and classic or grand and elegant, the Kimmel Center has a venue for you. The Kimmel Center can accommodate weddings from under a hundred guests up to 750 or more guests.

We are impressed by the many options that the Kimmel Center offers!

How have you transformed the Kimmel Center in different ways?

At Danielle and Doug’s recent wedding, we were excited to transform the Hamilton Rooftop Garden in a few ways.

First, the couple wanted to display family photos in the ceremony space. Our team of Philadelphia wedding planners developed an innovative photo wall on a glass-tiered bookshelf. This display was later repurposed as a Champagne wall that greeted guests at the start of the reception.

Also, our Elegant Events floral designers created a luxe lounge area immediately outside the reception space where guests could retreat. The space was decorated with a mango color sofa set and accented with cocktail tables.

We love partnering with our clients to transform the Kimmel Center in a way that suits their needs and wants!

What ceremony and reception spaces are available at the Kimmel Center?

The Kimmel Center has four gorgeous event venues. Each can function as both a ceremony and reception space.

The Hamilton Rooftop Garden is located at the top of the Kimmel Center and can accommodate 200 guests. With floor-to-ceiling windows that provide a breathtaking view of the city, it’s no surprise that the Hamilton Rooftop Garden is the most popular venue at the Kimmel Center. Our favorite part is the sophisticated glass rooftop that serves as a magnificent backdrop for ceremonies and receptions alike.

Another option for couples is the Academy of Music Ballroom, which can accommodate 150 guests. This historic wedding venue has been in continuous use since 1857 and offers an elegant and ornate backdrop for wedding ceremonies and receptions. The character that comes from the regal chandeliers and hand-gilded walls is like no other! Your guests will be in awe as they take in the space and overlook the Avenue of the Arts below.

Next, the Commonwealth Plaza is a dramatic space complete with a 150-foot vaulted glass roof. Your guests will be impressed by the spectacular architecture and unmatched grandeur of the Plaza. It can accommodate up to 750 guests and has a multi-tiered lobby that can be sectioned off for smaller weddings.

Lastly, the Perelman Theater is a regal theater that can be transformed into a wedding venue. You and your guests can enjoy dinner and dancing on the grand stage for truly a one-of-a-kind Philadelphia wedding. This unique wedding venue can accommodate 250 guests.

What does the average Kimmel Center wedding cost?

Based on the weddings that we have planned at the Kimmel Center, we highly recommend a budget of at least $500 per guest. This estimate includes the venue, catering, photographer, videographer, entertainment, and florals. It does not include attire, jewelry, lodging, transportation, or our planning services.

Any insider tips for weddings at the Kimmel Center?

Garces Group is the exclusive caterer for the Kimmel Center. They do a fabulous job bringing your vision to life when it comes to food and beverages for your wedding! Our couples have especially enjoyed the decadent dessert display that Garces Group offers. Their desserts make for the perfect addition to a wedding cake!

Volvér, located on the first floor of the Kimmel Center, is a phenomenal after-party location. Our recent clients Danielle and Doug hosted their after-party here and indulged in a culinary extravaganza with their guests after their reception concluded. If you want to keep the party going after the reception ends, this convenient spot makes for the perfect end to your night!
