College of Physicians Wedding

We loved planning Kathy and Billy’s College of Physicians Wedding! Here at Elegant Events, Philadelphia museum weddings are some of our favorites. Kathy and Billy chose to have a College of Physicians wedding as an homage to their careers as physicians.

Kathy and Billy first met while in medical school in Saint Martin, but they now reside in Texas. Kathy knew she wanted a Philadelphia wedding since she grew up here, and it’s the place she calls home.

Stunning First Looks

Kathy and Billy got ready with their wedding parties at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel. We suggested that they have their first look at the hotel overlooking the gorgeous Philadelphia skyline. It was a breathtaking backdrop for such a special moment. From there, the couple and their wedding party set off to take photos along the route from the hotel to the wedding venue.

Their College of Physicians Wedding Ceremony

With Billy’s Pakistani background, the couple planned a traditional Pakistani/Muslim ceremony in their current city prior to their College of Physicians wedding. At their Philadelphia wedding, the couple chose to incorporate an Irish ring-warming ceremony as a nod to Kathy’s family’s background. During this special tradition, the wedding guests passed around the couple’s rings to wish well upon them and Kathy and Billy’s marriage. It was so special to see, and we love how the couple chose to incorporate both of their heritages in their wedding ceremonies.

The College of Physicians wedding ceremony took place outside in the Sir John Templeton Veranda and Medicinal Herb Garden. It was the perfect summer day in Philadelphia, which made for an incredible ceremony and photos. Guests sat in white wooden chairs facing a lovely ivy-covered brick wall. It made for a remarkable setting for the couple to say their vows.

Their College of Physicians Wedding Reception

Kathy and Billy’s College of Physicians wedding reception featured floral arrangements by our in-house floral design team. We incorporated lush green leaves, white hydrangeas, and spray roses paired with romantic cylinder candles to accentuate the beauty of The College of Physicians ballroom. The warm wood-paneled walls, old oil paintings, and vintage sconces made for a dramatic space for Kathy, Billy, and their guests to enjoy their evening of dinner and dancing.

In the lounge area we created just outside the ballroom, we incorporated a neon sign that read, “‘Til death” which was a fun touch for the couple. It was housed under a copper wedding arch that we repurposed from the wedding ceremony. It made for a wonderful photo-op for the couple and their guests.

After the dinner, dances, and toasts, the couple and their wedding party headed outside for some fun nighttime photos of them popping champagne. We had so much fun with the couple and their wedding party, and the champagne photos are just a glimpse into that. When the time came, Kathy and Billy had their grand exit and loaded into their getaway car, a vintage white Rolls-Royce. Their friends and family waved goodbye to them after an evening of celebration.

Seeing all of the details come together for their College of Physicians wedding was a treat! Having planned the wedding from afar, Kathy and Billy were so happy with the way we brought their vendor selections and design choices to life. They entrusted our wedding planning team at Elegant Events with many of the key decisions, so it was extra special to see them so happy!

I do not have enough good things to say about Donielle and her team. Despite choosing their most minimal package, she was there every step of the way with recommendations and guidance. They were always available for questions or to help with vendors and logistics. Throughout the months leading up to the wedding, they made sure all of the final details came together and were able to pivot with some of our requested last minute changes. For the wedding week, rehearsal, and day, Donielle took 99% of the stress off my shoulders and let me just enjoy everything. The wedding was beyond my wildest dreams and we could not be happier.
